Family History

Documenting my family history is a deeply personal endeavour, driven by a profound desire to preserve the stories, experiences, and legacies of those who came before me. I feel a sense of responsibility to capture the lives and contributions of my ancestors, ensuring that their journeys are not forgotten with the passage of time. By exploring our roots, I hope to create a connection between past and present generations, offering my family a deeper understanding of who we are and where we come from.

Family history, for me, is more than a collection of dates and names; it is a tapestry woven with resilience, love, and sacrifice. Each thread represents a decision, a challenge, or a triumph that shaped the course of our family’s path. By documenting these narratives, I aim to honour those who paved the way for us, while also providing a rich source of inspiration for future generations.

I also view this process as an opportunity to strengthen familial bonds. In sharing our history, I hope to spark meaningful conversations and cultivate a sense of unity among relatives. Ultimately, this project is a gift—one that preserves our heritage and celebrates the enduring legacy of our family.

Remembering the past is an important tool in preventing the same mistakes being made again.

The people mentioned here include both maternal and paternal ancestors. On my mother’s side we have both her biological parents Thora Silverthorne and Kenneth Sinclair-Loutit and also her adoptive father Nares Craig.

On my father’s side I have focused mainly on my grandfather George Stacy Hodson.
